Hey my name is Daisy Thomas, a young 21 year old female surfer from the southern end of Aotearoa. Born in Christchurch I took up surfing living next to the ocean with my family and haven't stopped since. Shortboarding was my first love, sticking at it for a good few years my passion for recreational surfing slowly evolved into wanting to have a crack at a contest or two and I now hold the Open Womens National Shortboard Title.
I was then thrown a longboard a few years down the track, had a go and loved it! Usually it was only when the waves got really small that I borrowed a longboard to have a play around on and get the most out of the waves. Then Mickey T shaped me a beautiful malibu to ride, entered a few contests and did ok, naturally that led onto the path of giving the NZ Longboard Circuit a go. I then won the 2008 Open Womens National Circuit Title and the Open Womens National Longboard Title, having fun doing it I decided to go back and came out backing up the same results as 2008 into 2009.
Mickey T is on to it, he watched me surf and worked with me to design a board that would work for my style of surfing. He is a man who loves his surfing and has taken down a few titles in the longboarding scene so he knows his stuff. Awesome person to work with and he is constantly working with his partner Sunny to create something that will work for us ladies. Epic!
I met M. T. in the south island down at the beach at the Christchurch Pro Longboard Contest a few years back. From then I have worked with M.T. and Raglan Longboards since and they have been so awesome!
